I’m 45 today. If I’m lucky enough to live to 90 then I have lived half my life. I hope I’m still riding my bike at 90. You’re only as old as you feel or, as Groucho Marx once said, “You’re only as old as the woman you feel”. I heard another quote recently that I like better. It’s a Chinese proverb: “You’re only as old as your spine”. Eat well, get lots of exercise, and look after your back by not sitting for long periods.
I’ve had a fantastic birthday. My company gives us all our birthday off work so I’ve had a lovely day of relaxing followed by dinner at Foodstory.

Ben surprised me by buying this lovely dress for me as a gift. He’s never bought me a dress before and I never expected him to have such good taste in women’s dresses. After nearly 15 years of marriage he’s still amazing me. It’s got a lovely vintage shape to it and is covered in a bicycle print.
Elizabeth made me a carrot cake which we’re about to eat so I’d better go.
