Duthie Park in the snow

Snowy Aberdeen and vintage tweed trousers

Winter has come to Aberdeen. I took this photo on my run on Monday.

Duthie Park in the snow with blue sky and a low sun peering through tree branches.

Since then it has snowed a bit each day. Here are photos from today’s run.

We set our thermostat to 16C during the day so it sits at about 16C indoors. I don’t feel cold and if I did I’d just add another layer. I’m sure other people turn their heating off completely during the day. Let me know in the comments what your thermostat is set to. I read the King sets his thermostat to 18.5C. That’s what ours goes up to in the evenings and early mornings. I’m a bit obsessed with knitwear so I love having a good excuse to wear a beautiful jumper or two.

Last week I bought these vintage woollen tweed trousers on Vinted. I’ve been wanting something like this for a while and these are exactly what I was looking for as they’re really thick wool of a kind you wouldn’t be able to buy today. They are handmade so there are no labels but you can tell a lot from the feel and weight of the fabric. They’re also long which is something I often have trouble with in trousers and they’re lined.

Tweed trousers and a white knitted cardigan.

In one of the pockets I found an old 7pence stamp. I looked it up and discovered it’s a Christmas stamp from 1978 which suggests that’s when the trousers were last worn.

I know it’s cold, but a snow scene does look so lovely πŸ™‚ Good score with the pants – and even more so with the stamp – lol! What are you going to do with it?
