Elizabeth has acquired a pet. She’s called him fluffy and given him some food and a blanket. She tried to give him some toys as well but fortunately I managed to talk her out of that. Fluffy is a cockroach. Here he is, in his home:
I doubt Fluffy would be a fussy eater so that’s a good thing.
Exactly. And he doesn’t need to be taken for walks, he doesn’t bark, and he doesn’t leave surprises on our back lawn.
Sounds like the perfect pet! Just hope you don’t have quarantine issues migrating him to Aberdeen.
I’m afraid Fluffy’s days are numbered.
My Daughter (age 8) was very keen for me to grow cauliflower in the garden.. entirely because it would attract butterflies. Which are more important then green vegetables, obviously.
Haha. Elizabeth likes butterflies too. All insects are pets in her book.
I remember that Rachel had lots of pet cockroaches at Ashburton street.

haha, very funny. All Brisbane houses have lots of cockroaches.
I thought that Elizabeth might like the Alexander Beatle song.
Whatever you do, don’t give it a squeaky toy. 😛
That song is very appropriate.
Not all surprises may be fecal. Let’s hope Fluffy isn’t capable of parthenogenesis…
Fluffy has escaped so it’s possible he or she has gone to find a mate.
