Highland dance exam, a visit to St Andrews and little Lucille

I got distinction for my silver highland dance exam which I did in December last year. This is the highest grade you can get so I’m absolutely thrilled. I think probably they’re a bit lenient on old ladies because I’m not sure this was wholly deserved but I’ll take it!

Yesterday we took Grandad to St Andrews to show him where Daniel lives. We checked out his accommodation and saw a few sights before having lunch at Pizza Express.

I got the buddha bowl at Pizza Express which was quite good except for the hummus which was salty and the bread was white. When will the food industry get the message and start serving brown bread and ditching the salt?

Lucille our roborovski dwarf hamster is 2 years old this month which is old for a hamster. I did some cleaning and rearranging in her cage today which always prompts her to come out of her burrow to see what’s happening. She’s looking great. It’s hard to believe she nearly died from cancer 15 months ago. We paid for her to have surgery at the time to remove a mammary tumour which nearly took her life but she made it and is now living her best life and we love her. She’s a happy little thing with zero interest in leaving her cage. She was terrified of us for such a long time but now she willingly takes sunflower seeds from us.
