Daniel’s Prom 2025

Daniel had his school prom last night and was very fetching in a striped navy suit.

The theme was The Great Gatsby but most students didn’t follow it much to my surprise as that’s such a fun theme with so many cool options. Daniel’s suit matched well with the theme but is also modern and can be worn again.

It was at Ardoe House and the place was decorated beautifully. Parents were able to attend for the first 30 minute to take photos.

Daniel went as part of a group of six friends. They all went to someone’s house first then caught taxis. They didn’t want we parents to drive them despite the fact we all drove there anyway for the beginning.

There were lots of gorgeous young ladies in beautiful dresses but I’m mindful of sharing photos of people I don’t know who haven’t given permission for their photos to be shared so it’s just the lads on my blog.

Ben, Elizabeth and I went for dinner at Ardoe House after leaving Daniel and it was really good. You order at the bar and can sit in any of their lounges which are very comfortable with a nice atmosphere. There’s even board games there so we played a bit of a very old edition of trivial pursuit before dinner. One question referred to the Prime Minister of Australia as Bob Hawke – that’s how old it was. Another question referenced the now disgraced entertainer Jimmy Saville but not for what he best known for today.

    We used to call it the school ball, but I expect it’s called the Prom here, too, now 🙂 Did all the guys were suits? A big change form my day – lol – unless they only wore suits because of the theme, even though they didn’t all adhere to it.

      Some of them wore tuxedos. Not many dressed up in the theme but they all looked very smart. It’s called the school formal in Australia. I think prom is an American word.
