Elizabeth performed the opening dance for her school’s international festival last night. This is the Highland Laddie which is danced to the tune of the same name and is a renowned regimental march. Indeed the dance steps were apparently choreographed by soldiers in the first world war.

I like the enthusiastic reception from the audience. It’s a lot to remember and it seems quite hard work in having to control the steps and balance and hold parts of your body still while only moving your legs. Very brave to dance the first dance in front of all those people too.

She doesn’t seem to have any trouble remembering steps but when you’re young it’s much easier to pick up new things and remember them. They have brains like a sponge.
