Playing in the snow

We’re back in Aberdeen after driving back in extremely snowy conditions yesterday. Dad took this video from the car. Fortunately I have all-season tyres that are good in the snow so I felt safe on the drive.

The view through the front windscreen is all white.

Before we left we did some more sledging. Here’s a collection of photos.

They were clearing the ice on the curling pond for a game later.

Just after telling everyone what an expert I was at the turns on the sledging slope I went off-piste.

Here’s a good one of Daniel, Maddy and Oscar coming down one after the other.

We’re back in Aberdeen now and there’s just as much snow here. It’s a total whiteout!

I’m glad you have good tyres. I remember my first husband observing that people in the south of the UK aren’t good at driving in the snow, which is true, but we don’t really get much practice. I tend to crawl along, but it only takes one person to get it wrong and an accident blocks the road for hours.

I’m a very anxious driver and when we first moved here I was terrified of driving in snow. Having done it lots of times now I’m much more comfortable and with snow tyres I feel confident. It’s good to drive more slowly regardless of how prepared and how confident you are. Drive to the conditions is what they say and it’s true.
