The Kilt Walk, highland dancing, and visitors

Daniel participated in The Kilt Walk this weekend to raise money for Charlie House, a local charity that supports children in the north east of Scotland with life-threatening of life-limiting conditions. He raised £258 and walked from Aberdeen to Banchory which is almost 19 miles. He had blisters at the end of the day but nothing worse than that.

We weren’t allowed to wave him off because we’re embarrassing to him now so instead all I got was this photo before he left.

Daniel smiling and wearing his Charlie House tshirt.

Elizabeth danced at a church for their summer fair. She performed three dances. This one is the Barracks Johnny.

And we have some visitors from Argentina who we’ve been sight-seeing with.

Elizabeth is a very graceful and elegant dancer. I took Isabel climbing the other day and she was good at it, although she’d never been before. She said doing ballet made her strong. Highland dancing looks similar, you have to make big movements, but all under tight control.

Such an amazing thing for Daniel to do. All young men should be as amazing as Daniel.

I think there is some similarity between ballet and highland dance. It’s good for kids to learn some form of dance, I’ve decided. And yes, Daniel is amazing but I’m probably biased.
