Home again

I’m back at home in Aberdeen after a superb week in Dublin. I flew into Aberdeen yesterday and the views from the plane made me feel so lucky to live here. I could see mountains with snow in the distance, next to rolling hills and then patchwork fields of crops, forest, the silver rows of granite homes in Aberdeen, the beach, and then the sea. That’s a lot of landscapes for one little city.

Ben and the kids were happy to have me back. Ben made hot cross buns –

Elizabeth wants to tear up and down the bike path all the time now –

This afternoon I took them for a bike ride to Newton Dee on Harold. I always miss cycling when I’m away and it feels so great to get back on the bike when I’m home again. Newton Dee has farm animals and there were some piglets and lambs as well as the usual cows and chickens.
