What I wore last year

Last night I lay in bed wondering whether I wore the same outfit to the Christmas dinner this year that I wore last year. Fortunately my fears were quickly allayed by digging up the photo from last year and discovering that my outfit was indeed different. Phew! Sleepless night avoided. #firstworldproblems

Elizabeth and I are early risers. Daniel and Ben like to sleep in. On Friday morning when I was away, Elizabeth was concerned that Ben might not get up in time to take them to school. She went into the bedroom to wake him up saying, “Daddy, don’t forget school”. I’m glad Elizabeth was around to make sure the kids made it to school on Friday.

There’s a funny satirical article in Private Eye magazine this week titled, “Donald Trump praises San Bernardino Couple” by Sammy Automatic. It goes like this:

Donald Trump has praised the San Bernadino couple, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malaki, for integrating fully into American society.

and more:

Whereas other Muslims are preaching peace, love and tolerance, Syed and Tashfeen were being all-American and buying as many handguns and semi-automatic weapons as they could get their hands on.

    1. Yes, it’s so funny. There was a bit more to it but I thought I’d better not reproduce the whole article as there would be copyright issues.

  1. So relieved that you didn’t wear the same outfit two Christmas parties in a row. ๐Ÿ™‚
Aren’t you lucky that Elizabeth wakes the family up when you’re not around. So funny.
I had trouble accessing the Trump article. Do you have a subscription because, if you do, I’d love to know what tight-lipped Sir Brian said about Rebekah Brookes.
    PS: Like the snow.

    1. I’ll email you what Sir Brian said ๐Ÿ™‚ We do have a subscription to the magazine and it’s not available on the web.
