Photos of Lucille and Aberdeen

We never see our hamster Lucille unless we get up after midnight and sneak in for a peak. She’s very shy and only comes out when we’ve all gone to bed. However, today I freshened up her home and as part of that put in some new sprays which she loves. This enticed her out and she spent a bit of time foraging immediately afterwards.

She’s looking so well. I’m really happy we put her through the ordeal of surgery at the end of August as it has given her a second chance and she’s now a very healthy and happy little thing. I wasn’t sure it was the right thing to do at the time but now it’s clear it was.

We went for a walk to enjoy the autumn colours around Aberdeen today. We don’t venture out into Aberdeenshire as often these days because Daniel is studying so hard and says he doesn’t have time. He and Ben were in Glasgow yesterday for the university open day and I think Daniel liked it. Glasgow will be one of the universities he’s applying for. The maths department building is pretty cool. Ben took this photo of it. Daniel will make a decision about where he’s going to study April/May time next year.

The side of the maths departments has mathematics scrawled all over it.

And here are some pics of Aberdeen today.

Looking across the river towards Torry and lots of pretty trees in yellow and red.
Looking down the river towards the suspension bridge that's now just for pedestrians and cyclists.

This next photo I took about a week ago at Duthie Park.

It’s nice to share pictures of Lucille. I know the feeling of excitement when you see a reclusive dwarf hamster. I really identify with their solitary personalities.

Yes I hadn’t seen her for a while although I see evidence of her each morning as the food is gone.
