Two French policeman on ostriches.

Woods, street art, awards and more

It’s a lovely rainy day today. I’m not a summer person and at this time of the year I start to miss winter so an overcast, rainy day is always welcome. That’s not to say I don’t really enjoy a refreshing swim in the river on a hot day but we haven’t had any of those so far this year. We went for a walk in woods this morning and it was lush and green. This is the quarry at Tollohill Wood.

I’m wearing a cardigan I just finished knitting in this next photo. It took a long time because I had to knit it twice. The first time it was too big and I didn’t like my colour choices. It’s two strands of yarn knitted at the same time so it was very hard to undo but I did it and started all over again. Now I’m happy with the finished product.

Last night I made made vegan rice paper rolls with satay sauce for dinner. They were delicious and it was a big hit with the kids.

Last week Daniel won the high school computer science award at his school. It’s very timely as he’s currently writing his personal statement for university entrance and this is a good thing to put on that.

This next photo is the work of a French street artist Murmure. It’s on the side of the Aberdeen Town House and was completed as part of the 2023 Nuart Festival.

Just around the corner from the Town House is Castlegate and recently I discovered the Vegan Bay Baker have a café there.

Absolutely everything in the shop is vegan.

Lots of bread, rolls, and croissants for sale.
All the sweet treats like donuts, pastries, and cookies.

And the last photo is of Shiprow with its colourful umbrella roof.
