I took this photo of a man in a kilt washing windows a couple of weeks ago when walking into town with Elizabeth. Only in Scotland!

Last night we went to a Christmas party at Ben’s work. We’ve had several frosty days and it took us around 10 minutes to scrape all the ice off the car.

There’s a heavy frost again this morning. Here’s the bird feeder in our back yard.

It’s a lovely sunny day today albeit only -3C so I went for a run. I don’t think I’ve shared a photo yet of the new statue that appeared at Duthie Park over the summer. This is John Macleod, one of the discoverers of insulin. He went to Aberdeen Grammar School and studied medicine at the University of Aberdeen. Before the discovery of insulin people with type 1 diabetes had to follow a near starvation diet and didn’t live very long. They did a good job of the statue and sometimes as I run past I see it in the corner of my eye, forget it’s a statue and think there’s someone sitting there.
