I just finished knitting Daniel a jumper. For this I reused some Bluefaced Leicester yarn I’d previously crocheted into a jumper for him but it wasn’t a good fit so I frogged it. Fortunately knitting uses less yarn so I’d had plenty for this jumper with some to spare. I used a pattern from Harry Potter Knitting Magic.

This is the jumper Mrs Weasley knits the boys for Christmas but minus the letter on the front as Daniel wasn’t keen to have a big letter D on his jumper. I offered to instead write, “I love my mummy” but he wasn’t keen on that either.

It’s a great fit on him and Bluefaced Leicester is the loveliest of yarns. It’s so soft – a delight to wear.
Today I bought some antique binoculars from the charity shop. I’ve been wanting binoculars for some time so I can see the birds at the bird feeder but when I looked into getting some I was astonished to find they cost hundreds of pounds. These antique binoculars are made by Barr & Stroud and date from the 1920s. Despite their age, they’re excellent and will probably last longer than binoculars made today.

And here’s a cute photo of Victoria just because we all like cat pics.

And Rocket is still alive and well. We’ve been waiting for him to die since March but he’s still going strong.
