Sunday walk at Crathes Castle

We haven’t been for walk in the country for a while. Saturdays are busy again with Highland Dance and Sundays is allotment day. Late this afternoon we decided to head to Crathes Castle for a walk. How many people who live in cities can decide late on a Sunday afternoon for country walk and then be there in 20 minutes? We’re lucky to have so many hills, forests, and rivers we can explore so close to home. Having access to the natural world is so good for our physical and mental health.

Here are some pics.

What bird does that carving depict?

I actually don’t know what it is. I was wondering that myself today.

We live a 20 minute bus / train ride from the better local scenery as well. But it doesn’t come close to yours ๐Ÿ˜…

The yak things are very sweet too. They look so happy and healthy.

They do look a bit like yaks. Perhaps they have a common ancestor in their evolutionary history?
