There’s fake everything these days: fake news, fake meat, fake milk, fake designer clothing, fake art, and there’s even fake waiting. Fake waiting is when developers deliberately build a wait time into a program that serves no function other than to make the user wait. Apparently in some cases users prefer it. Waiting creates suspense for the results and increases our perceived value of the results.

This isn’t the point of your blog – but “fake meat” and “fake milk” from a Vegan? I’m burned! 😊 Is this where I scold you and give you my lecture that the words ‘meat’ and ‘milk‘ (or ‘cheese’) don’t belong only to the animal-eating industry – and how that industry has just appropriated them. We always say fake meat in our house and I’m very proud of the fact that we NEVER have real meat or real milk in the house. I also have fake coffee and fake tea (without caffiene) with my fake milk. I don’t mean it in a derogatory way like a meat-eater would say it when they deride vegans.
I get what you’re saying – I guess in-house humour can fly over the heads of those not in on it 😊
