Last week we were invited to Elizabeth’s school to listen to them sing and to explore their classroom to see what they’ve been working on. At the back of the classroom was a wishing tree that the children had added their wishes to. They were all anonymous but we could read them and some were heartbreaking. They wished for an end to plastic litter in the oceans, clean air to breathe, a solution to climate change, peace, and this was a tear-jerker, their “parents to get along”.
My wish for this Christmas is for the wishes of children to come true. We are on Earth for such a short time and if we can make a difference and leave the place in better shape than when we arrived then it will make our lives meaningful and worthwhile. We can all make a difference and have a positive impact for the next generation of Earthlings. Let’s do it for the children.
It’s so lovely and hopeful that children know what really matters. We just need to listen to them.
Yes, I agree. Kids are amazing.
