A cucumber in Scotland in November

Yesterday I picked all these tomatoes at my allotment and even discovered a cucumber! This must be a first for Aberdeen: a cucumber in November. I thought my cucumber plant had died but it’s a bit of jungle in the glasshouse and I didn’t notice this cucumber until yesterday. I picked all the green tomatoes because I don’t think they’ll go red now. We’ve had several frosts already and the tomato plant is dying. I’m hoping they might turn red on my windowsill.

My glasshouse isn’t heated but imagine what I could grow if it was?

Green tomato relish – if you do such things? Personally, I would know where to begin, but others have the midas touch with food and cooking ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s a great idea. I do make chutney so can probably find a recipe for green tomato chutney. Thank you!

I like the light in that photo. I’m imagining a beautiful clear day.
