The best shed

When we took possession of our allotment in September 2017, the shed was in a terrible state. The roof had caved in and there was about 5cm of water in the bottom. Fortunately, my father was visiting at the time and we put him to work replacing the roof for us.

Despite the leaking, the rest of the shed was in reasonably good condition and all the timber still sound. Ever since then I’ve had it in my mind that we’d paint the shed a nice mustard yellow, and that’s exactly what we’ve done. It looks fantastic. It really brightens up the whole place and makes it so inviting. Not that it wasn’t already but it warms my heart to see our bright yellow shed. It’s the simple things …

We’ve only painted the front so far. It still needs the sides and back done. Fortunately, my father is visiting us again soon …
