The Scottish village of Aberfeldy is renowned for being the inspiration for Robert Burns’ poem, The Birks of Aberfeldy. A birk is the Scottish word for a beech tree and the Birks of Aberfeldy is a forested walk along Moness gorge. We did the walk this afternoon and met Robert Burns along the way. He’s the one on the right in this next one.

Hi Rachel! Robert Burns looks very festive, not to mention the lovely young ladies next to him…what a beautiful place for a walk! I wonder if you will get snow for Christmas? Too mild – and wet and windy here in Somerset sadly. What a sweet little hut for those meerkats and that shop window is a hoot! I don’t think we’ll have snow for Christmas as it’s too warm here. I’m not sure who dressed Robert Burns up like that either. He was like that when we found him 🙂

That’s good to hear. It was really steep in parts and it was hard to get that into the photos.
