Photos from Aberdeen

I like to look at the types of houses people live in when I go to different cities. Here are a few from the residential streets of Aberdeen plus a couple of our backyard.

Aberdeen is a beautiful city. It’s quite leafy for a British city – which I really like – and many of the streets here are lined with trees.

The view from our bedroom. I love the autumn colours.

Our backyard from my office. It's a little bare because I've just pulled out a heap of weeks and other things. It's a work in progress. Hopefully by next summer it will look amazing :)

Someone's home. I took this pic on my walk home from the hospital when I couldn't see properly. That's my excuse for the poor photography.

I like the falling light, and the autumnal look. You arrived just at the right time of year!

Wonderful view and colors! That will make a lovely garden or a lovely whatever you put there. ๐Ÿ™‚

There is something about a Scottish/Northern sky that casts more interesting shades even when gloomy. Autumn shades always give me sense of antiquity in everything around. Altogether, a good place to be at this time of year. I wonder what Halloween will be like. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, I love the Northern sky too. I’m hoping to see the Northern Lights before too long.

Wow, these houses are indeed looking like castles ๐Ÿ™‚

I love to look at the houses too. In fact last year I went for run few times with the sole intent of ogling at the houses in my neighbourhood. But I stopped looking at houses because I started feeling bad that I am able unable to afford one of those ๐Ÿ˜›

Thanks for showing Scottish streets. They have a unique style.

Also I think it is good idea to do before and after photos of your backyard sometime next summer.

Yes, looking at houses is lots of fun when there are lots of interesting houses to look at. I’ll take some more as I wander about the streets. The architecture here is quite unique I think. All the homes are built from granite and the city is sometimes called The Granite City.

Interesting photos. I’d love to have a look in some of those homes. What’s the light like in Aberdeen at the moment? It looks pretty subdued in your photos. Is this par for the course?

It’s gloriously subdued. I love the soft lighting although I still need my sunglasses from time to time.

Thanks. I’m a hopeless photographer. I need to improve on that. ๐Ÿ™‚

You have a beautiful garden Rachel, perfect for your children to play in and also for you to plant up ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love taking in the sights of houses from different neighbourhoods too. Love the glimpse of Aberdeen, a place I’ve never visited. Looks really nice in these parts ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m really enjoying the garden. It’s a blank canvas for me to fill and I have been doing exactly that.

Aberdeen is very nice. When we visited last January I didn’t see all the residential areas I see now and they have exceeded my expectations.
