Daniel, Rachel and Elizabeth after seeing Elephant Sessions live

Elephant Session live at the Music Hall in Aberdeen

We saw Elephant Sessions perform at Aberdeen Music Hall last night. They were AMAZING! I have to confess I didn’t feel like going out and I was doubly annoyed when we got there at 7pm only to find out they weren’t starting until 9pm. Why don’t they put on the ticket that it starts at 9pm? But when it finally started it was fabulous with a great atmosphere and wonderful acoustics in the music hall, not to mention the great music.

We’re lucky we can walk most places we want to go and after walking to the show last night I had to laugh at Elizabeth who was hot from walking and wearing only a T-shirt in Aberdeen’s winter.

Elizabeth wearing only a tshirt outside in Aberdeen's winter. We're lining up waiting to go in.

Afterwards it was my turn to feel hot from all the boogying.

That’s a really long wait, did they have a support band? You’d usually expect to hear something straight away. I imagine they like to sell drinks while people are waiting and have an atmosphere of crowds right from the start?

We had that with my amateur choir, but it was only half an hour wait. There was a long interval too. It was all mainly to pad out that we don’t have that extensive a repertoire. Not as worth the wait for the audience as the Elephant Sessions. They are actually touring near us next year, but I would have to go across to Shoreham to see them. No walking home for me.

There was a supporting band – Beluga Lagoon – but I was unfamiliar with their music and also just impatient ๐Ÿ™‚ I think you’re right that it’s to get people to buy lots of drinks while they’re waiting.
