Open air theatre at Fyvie Castle

It’s summer which means it must be time for outdoor theatre. We go to see The Three Inch Fools every year now because they’re so funny and it makes for an excellent evening out. Last night we saw The Most Perilous Comedie of Elizabeth I with Fyvie Castle making a dramatic and magnificent backdrop.

Another view of the castle with the stage and people sitting in front waiting for the show to begin.

It’s a Tudor comedy featuring Queen Elizabeth I and other famous names like William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe. It even features Marlowe’s death by stabbing through the eye in a pub.

It has been many years since we visited Fyvie Castle and I’ve realised it’s long overdue; we must go back for a day of exploring. I’d forgotten how gorgeous it is.

If The Three Inch Fools are coming to your area then definitely go and see them. It’s well worth it.

They are coming to a place near us! I think I will go and see a Midsummer Night’s Dream. I would never have thought of doing this if I hadn’t read it here.
