Elizabeth dancing the hornpipe

Dancing, ducks and dinner

Yesterday Elizabeth danced at her school’s annual international festival. She did the hornpipe and it was fantastic but I’m in trouble because my camera ran out of space mid-way through recording it so I only got the first part. It was the best hornpipe I’ve seen her do too. Ben got some photos which I’ll paste below my recording.

It’s not often we get to film her because it’s not permitted at competitions. It’s also fun for her to have an entire stage for herself with good sound and lighting.

Recently we’ve had a couple of ducks camp out on the back lawn in our garden. I’ve never seen ducks there before and wonder that they think it’s a safe place to rest given the foxes and cats about. They are of course very welcome as is all the native wildlife.

This was dinner last night. It’s the gobi manchurian recipe from Anna Jones’ One Pot, Pan, Planet cookbook. It’s a favourite in our house and pretty easy to make. It also consists of 15 different plant species.

Gobi manchurian - you can see beans, cauliflower and bits of coriander plus some rice on the bottom.
