Orange forest - the leaves are orange and the floor of the forest is orange

Autumn colours

Last weekend we went to Angus and took these lovely photos of the autumn colours on a walk near Kinnettles Castle.

Up on the hill behind the castle are two water towers that previously supplied water to the castle and estate. One of them has a door that you can open to peer inside. It’s hard to tell depth from this photo but we guessed it would go about up to our shoulders. In fact it was a nice size for an indoor swimming pool – if only it was heated!

I couldn’t find much about these buildings online other than the small paragraph under “Reservoirs” (need to scroll down) at Kinnettles and District Heritage Group.

That water tower looks like it would be a scary setting for a crime novel at night time. I’m glad you were there in the day, much nicer!

Yes! It looks like the sort of place you’d discover a dead body in a crime novel.
