The fox and the stilton

My mother left some black pudding and stilton in our fridge when she departed. Even if I wasn’t vegan there’s no way I’d be eating either thing as they’re both full of salt so I put them outside with a camera.

The stilton went first followed swiftly by the black pudding. Mr Fox looks to be in good health so he’s obviously getting enough food from the environment but there’s no harm in an easy “takeaway” every now again.

Some things I read you aren’t supposed to put out for birds because of the salt content. I think cheese was one of them. But for birds that scavenge a lot, the processed diet of the modern world must mean that they do eat a lot of it.
I would think that stilton and black pudding would have a lot in them to keep a fox going, so that would outweigh the bad effects of the salt? I imagine the fox thought himself very lucky.

Yes it was definitely fox’s lucky day! I’m sure he it’s OK once in a while but too much and he’d probably end up with high blood pressure and diabetes.
