Grandad is here!

I haven’t seen my dad in over four years. He did plan to come for a visit in 2020 but then covid happened. He finally arrived this week and here he is sporting his new “Grandad” tshirt. We’re all absolutely delighted that he made it.

Before he arrived there were discussions about how much taller Daniel had to grow to reach Grandad so we’ve added a line for Grandad to the doorway where the height measurements take place. Daniel still has a little way to go.

Dad has just completed a massive cycle ride of over 600km in the Loire Valley. Not bad for an old bloke! I’ve told him he needs to do Lands End to John o’Groats next. We’ll find some fun things to do with him on the weekend.

A flock of starlings suddenly appeared at our bird feeder today. I don’t know where they came from as I’ve never seen starlings there before. They’re quite attractive little birds, small than a blackbird but very noisy and gregarious. Apparently they’re on the red list in the UK so I’m happy to help these little dudes.
