Rowntree Park

York’s Rowntree Park is an absolute gem. It is public green space which was gifted to the city of York by Rowntree (the chocolate company) in 1921 in memory of employees of the company who died during the war. It’s now a huge park with children’s playgrounds, bowling and putting green, skate park, tennis courts, library/cafe, lakes, ducks and geese, gardens, sculptures and a woodland walk. I love it.

Great Photos Rachel, this looks like a grand place for the kids as well as adults. You are the second person I follow who uses a iPhone to take pictures with. I am constantly amazed at the quality of pictures you get from that came phone. Granted it is one off the better phones out there I am still almost fooled at times by it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you. The iPhone does take great photos and I’m certainly no photographer!

Did you feed the ducks? Are there swans?

No. There are signs asking people not to feed the ducks. We obeyed.

For such a beautiful spot, it looks rather deserted; what time were you there?

About lunch time. There were lots of people around. They must all be behind me ๐Ÿ™‚
