More scenes from Auckland, frogs and play

More scenes from Auckland as viewed from inside our car (most of Auckland is viewed from within one’s car):

I took this of Freud in his new jacket a month or so ago

I watched a great TED talk yesterday titled, Science is for everyone, kids included. It’s delivered by an adult, Beau Lotto, and a12-year-old girl, Amy O’Toole, who is the youngest published scientist in the world. There are a couple of things that I want to pass on, because I found it both entertaining and insightful.

Beau Lotto speaks of how our perception of the world around us is grounded in our experience and history. We respond according to what we’ve done before so he asks, how can we ever see things differently? He uses a frog to illustrate his point and I’ve found the frog clip on youtube – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6EvnKbqjOE. Daniel and Elizabeth had a big laugh when they watched it.

Elizabeth is really missing Daniel now that school has returned. The two of them play together all the time. Last Friday she burst into tears and demanded we go to school to collect Daniel and bring him home. It’s really nice for us on weekends now because the two of them are busy playing for much of the time and I feel as though I have my life back. Amazing!

Could be anywhere in Australia except for the dog in the funny shirt.

Freud looks as though he’s proud of his outfit. Smart casual. How wonderful that Daniel and Elizabeth are such good playmates. Is there any hero worship involved?
