Today is a momentous day. Yesterday I released a new version of my Auckland Ferry Times app. The new version includes ads, in addition to some other new features. This morning I looked at the statistics for my app and I see that I’ve earned 3c already. Although 3c is hardly worth celebrating, it does mean that I now have an income and can tell people that I have a real job. People seem to define a real job as being one that pays money, thus excluding all forms of voluntary work. Well now I have a real job that pays money, albeit only 3c. All I need to do now is convert my 3c per day into $300 per day and we’ll have our ticket out of this place.

Oh well done Rachel! You definitely have a job now…. though I had thought being a mum was a big one … but will keep others happy. If that is what they would prefer to hear….

Congratulations Rachel. I’m impressed both by the fact that you’re earning money and how you’re doing it. Seems like magic to me:) Hope there are many more paying apps!

Me too!

What’s the total now, Rach?

A massive $13! It’s not exactly the money-making venture I had hoped. But I haven’t given up. I need to improve my skills and then dream up a fantastic idea.
The FerryTimes app is no longer active. It did not get very much usage at all and was proving time consuming to update. I have two other apps at the moment that serve ads –
EruptNZ – https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/eruptnz/id555456878?mt=8
and
Zeeks Free – https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/zeeks-free/id590033301?mt=8
