Our caterpillar

Daniel got a habitat for Christmas last year (habitat = bug catcher). It is currently home to the caterpillar of a Monarch butterfly. We’ve had the caterpillar since it was very, very tiny: only a couple of millimetres. It is now about 4cm long and I read somewhere that they grow to about 5cm before entering the chrysalis stage.

    What a brilliant caterpillar! Congratulations to Daniel for being such a good keeper. I can't believe the caterpillar has grown so big in such a short time. Looking forward to the next stage. Miss all the action over there what with caters, wetas, dogs, fish and kiddies. Love, B
