People have asked me whether I’m going to change the name of my blog now that I’m in Auckland. I don’t think so. The thunderstorm the other night shows me how quake rattled I still am and probably will be for a long time.
My Auckland friend met someone here who experienced the Edgecombe earthquake of 1987. It was a Mag. 6.5. She was a pre-teen at the time and says she still jumps at the sound of large trucks even now, more than 20 years later.
Ben is coming today so we’re all very excited about his impending arrival. There’s also more snow on the way for NZ so with a bit of luck, his flight back to Christchurch on Monday will be cancelled again. Fingers crossed.
