Mr Lemon

Elizabeth drew a face on a lemon the other day and now takes the thing with her everywhere. She even took it to school today.

Unfortunately the waxy surface of the lemon is not a very good surface for drawing anything permanent and the face invariably rubs off. Last night she woke up in the middle of the night upset because she couldn’t see the face. She ended up going downstairs by herself, found a pen, and drew the face back on. Then, feeling satisfied again, hopped back into bed and went to sleep. If only we could solve all the problems in the world by drawing faces on lemons.

Good that Elizabeth is able to ‘repair’ Mr Lemon when his face goes AWOL. I wonder how long he’ll last. 🙂

I was actually really impressed that she went down stairs by herself in the middle of the night to draw the face back on. Her older brother would have been too scared. Mind you it is light most of the time through the night at the moment. I’m not sure whether it was light when she went and did it because I was only half awake. I vaguely remember her telling me she was going to draw it back on and thinking to myself that I hope I don’t have to get out of bed too.

What an adorable little critter she is! And how wonderful that you are capturing all these terrific memories.

PS A crossword clue this week referred to a north eastern city and seaport in Scotland and I immediately knew the answer – “Aberdeen”! My geography is so poor that had you not moved there, I would have had to look it up.

That’s so great! I’m pleased to hear that I’m helping with crossword puzzles. I’m crap at those things.

That is the most adorable thing ever. When the boys were tiny, they carried dvd cases with them everywhere, even slept with them. I’d get woken in the middle of the night by screams if the cover came out of the case.

Haha, that’s so funny. I wonder what the fascination with DVD cases was about?

I don’t know, it was so weird. But you inspired me to blog about it. Ha!
